Hey Avatar Nation,
Today we finally released Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game on Xbox Series X|S.
We know this is coming later than all of us expected and hoped for. Xbox players have been watching friends on Steam, PS5, and Switch play this game for weeks, and that wait wasn't fair to you.
Before we get candid on what happened, we want to talk a little about where we go from here. While today's Xbox launch marks an important moment for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, it's just one stop on a much larger journey. We have a full road ahead, and we hope you'll stay along for the ride.
You deserved better than the updates you got over the past few weeks, especially when it came to communication. We're going to start making that right today, with a straight account of what happened and what's coming next.
So… What Happened
First, a commitment: we're going to keep talking to you like this, plainly and as early as we can, even when the news isn't what any of us want it to be.
Here's the honest version of what happened. As we moved through Xbox certification, we ran into a platform feature we'd planned to bring over from other versions without much trouble. It turned out that feature needed real, custom code built from scratch for Xbox, not a quick patch or a setting we could flip. That work takes time to do properly, and it landed later in our schedule than we expected.
We should have caught that earlier, and we should have told you sooner and more clearly once we did. Instead, a lot of you were left refreshing our socials for news we hadn't confirmed yet ourselves. That's on us.
None of this was anyone's intention. We were disappointed by the delay too. But we're not interested in dressing this up as anything other than what it was: a feature that needed more engineering time than we planned for, and a communication gap on our end that made the wait worse than it needed to be.
A Look Ahead
We're in this for the long haul, and Xbox's launch day is the start of the next chapter, not the finish line. We're still listening, and a lot of what's coming next is shaped directly by what this community has been asking for.
We also went out with Patch 2.5 for PS5 and Steam (Xbox users will be getting the same patch shortly), with a mix of features and fixes across platforms:
• Ranked Mode 1.0
• (Steam Only) Standard Edition to Deluxe upgrade option
• (PS5 Only) Matchmaking fix
• (PS5 Only) Controller latency improvements
• (PS5 Only) Low Latency Mode
Across every platform, the next stretch is packed. We're heading into PAX West with PAX West Collaboration Color for Aang, and the next patch brings Spectator Mode, Public Lobbies, Ozai Reimagined and Updated Localization. We’ll also be bringing Story mode difficulty adjustments, Trials & Tutorial Fixes, and Trophy Translations. Check out this roadmap below for what’s on tap:

Thank You So Much
To everyone who bought, played, and stuck with us through this, including the wait for today: thank you. And to the Xbox community in particular, thank you for your patience through a launch window that took longer than any of us wanted.
This community has given this game more than just players. You've given it theories, fan art, cosplay, clips, and arguments about tier lists that we genuinely love reading. That's what makes Avatar Legends feel like something bigger than a launch date.
We'll keep working to earn that, and we'll keep communicating better along the way. Welcome to the fight, Xbox. We're glad you're finally here.
— Team Avatar Legends
